A different kind of interface

Most software meets us through a screen. Physical intelligence asks what happens when a system also needs to understand a space, respond to objects and coordinate movement. The environment becomes part of the interface, with people and changing conditions inside it.

NETICS Physical Intelligence names an exploratory direction within our wider vision. We are interested in how robotics and connected systems might extend human capability beyond digital work. This is a research ambition, not an announcement of a deployed robot product.

Make the task specific

A broad request such as help in a workspace is difficult to evaluate. A narrower task, such as recognising whether a designated station is occupied, has clearer boundaries. It becomes possible to define what the system should observe, when it should pause and who should handle an exception.

The thought exercise matters because the physical world does not offer an undo button for every action. A useful development process should separate perception, planning and execution, then test the assumptions connecting them in controlled settings.

Human collaboration comes first

People working alongside a machine need to understand its state and intent. A visible pause, a predictable movement and an accessible stop control can matter as much as the sophistication of the underlying model. Reliability includes the moments when the system chooses not to act.

We see physical intelligence as part of the same human-centred question that guides our other work: what would make people more capable while keeping their understanding and agency intact? The answer will take careful experiments, practical constraints and continued learning.
